PrimeArc Academy · Grades 6–8

Math Competition Programs deeper mathematics through problem solving

Small-group mathematics enrichment that strengthens school math, develops creative problem-solving, and prepares students for AMC 8, MATHCOUNTS, and other major middle-school competitions.

AMC 8 MATHCOUNTS
Noetic MOEMS Math Kangaroo Math League

Training centers on AMC 8 and MATHCOUNTS while developing mathematical skills that transfer across competition formats.

Fall 2026 classes are now in progress. Families interested in joining the current program may contact us about availability, placement, or a guest session.

Why competition math

Build skills that go beyond the classroom

Competition mathematics gives students opportunities to explore unfamiliar problems, develop stronger reasoning, and learn how to persist when the solution is not immediately obvious.

Problem-solving skill

Students learn to approach unfamiliar questions with strategy, flexibility, and creativity instead of relying only on memorized procedures.

Deeper mathematical thinking

Problems encourage students to recognize structure, make connections, test ideas, and explain why a solution works.

Confidence and persistence

Working through challenging problems helps students become more comfortable with productive struggle and more confident when mathematics becomes difficult.

Preparation for advanced mathematics

Strong foundations in algebra, geometry, number theory, and combinatorics support future work in advanced mathematics and STEM courses.

Choose the right fit

Two levels, one clear path

Both programs develop mathematical reasoning and problem solving, but the pace, depth, and competition emphasis are matched to student readiness.

FOUNDATIONS

Foundations

Strengthen mathematics and build competition confidence

Best for

Students in grades 6–8 who want to strengthen middle-school mathematics while developing stronger problem-solving skills.

What students gain

Deeper understanding of number sense, ratios, pre-algebra, geometry, counting, and logical reasoning through engaging competition-style problems.

Competition focus

A supportive introduction to AMC 8, MATHCOUNTS, and related middle-school competitions.

ADVANCED

Advanced

Train seriously for AMC 8 and MATHCOUNTS

Best for

Students in grades 6–8 with strong foundational skills who are ready for faster-paced and more challenging competition mathematics.

What students gain

Deeper work across algebra, geometry, number theory, counting, and probability together with timed contest practice and strategy.

Competition focus

AMC 8 and MATHCOUNTS preparation with selected extension problems that begin building toward AMC 10.

2026–2027 program

A full year of mathematical growth

Each level includes 16 instructional weeks in the Fall semester and 16 instructional weeks in the Spring semester. Topics develop throughout the year rather than being taught as isolated contest tricks.

FOUNDATIONS · GRADES 6–8

Build Strong Mathematical Foundations

A structured progression through number sense, number theory, pre-algebra, geometry, counting, probability, and data. Competition-style problems reinforce school mathematics while developing reasoning and persistence.

ADVANCED · GRADES 6–8

Train for Math Competitions

A competition-focused spiral through Algebra, Counting, Number Theory, and Geometry. Students work through mixed contest sets, timed practice, AMC 8 and MATHCOUNTS problems, and selected AMC 10 extensions.
